The maritime industry is changing as the world seeks to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels.
 
In July 2023, the IMO agreed to reach 'net-zero' greenhouse gas emissions by around 2050. Achieving this target will require technological changes – including introduction or expansion of alternative fuels – which has the potential to have a major impact on your working life as a maritime professional.
